I was just thinking about back in high school when I went through my depression and what a hard time in my life that was. How sad is our society that 15-year-old kids have to deal with adult issues like depression and suicide? Seriously. I'm totally baffled by the things that kids have to face these days. I think I scared my mom yesterday, because I was watching the news and they were talking about the war, and I looked at her and said, "My greatest fear is that my own children will have to pay for this war." I am scared, scared senseless. I don't want to raise my children in a time of conflict. My brothers and I were old enough to understand when our world changed 6 years ago, but my children will only know conflict and war. I am truly frightened of the world that I am destined to inherit.

But on a more positive note, I realized just how far I have come in 5 years. I am so in love with life these days, it's very exciting. I keep finding more and more strength to get me by, even through the thing with Jeff.

I feel like I can be a source of strength for others, too.

One of the girls at work has a friend who is going through the same thing I went through with Jeff, and I passed on my cell phone number. I want this girl to call me so I can tell her that everything will be alright. I want to hug her and let her know that she isn't alone, and that she will be just fine.

The reason behind all that?
I realized that I'm going to be just fine.

I'm really going to be just fine.
It feels damn good.
